2/23に起きたニュージーランドでの大地震(M6.3)は、世界中で日夜報道されている通り現在も救助/捜索活動が続けられています。現地に住む多くの方々はもちろん、オーストラリアや日本など多くの方が今回の惨事に巻き込まれ、現在も200人余りの人たちが行方不明の状態。
As you all know, there was a huge(M6.3) earthquake in New Zealand, Christchurch on Feb23.
ニュージーランドの救助隊１５０人のほか、日本やオーストラリアなど７つの国と地域から派遣された救助隊あわせて４３０人が、日本人の生徒が通っていた語学学校の入ったビルの倒壊現場などを中心に懸命の救助活動を続けています。

以前語学学校や移住を扱う会社に勤務していた事もあり、クライストチャーチへ語学留学をする人が大勢いることは知っていました。現地との電話やメールでの日常的なやり取りをしていた事もあり、最初にニュースを耳にした時から他人事とは思えないほどショックでした。
I used to work at the company that provides service for people who wants to study abroad, and I had daily contact with the language schools and college in Christchurch few years ago. When I first heard about this tragic news, I was very shocked. But few days ago, I was ever more shocked to know… two of our Jesters were in the deep grief and having anxious days since it happened.
そして、数日前さらにショッキングな事実を知りました。
SAWAS PHOOLの日本StreatTeamを一緒に盛り上げてくれているジェスターズの友人が現地語学学校に通っていた生徒の一人で、未だ身元の確認がされていないとのこと。SAWAS PHOOLのオーストラリアStreatTeamを立ち上げ運営してくれているジェスターズのおばあちゃんが地震発生の前後から行方がわからないとのこと。
One from Japan Street Team: A friend of Jesters was one of the Japanese student who was attending to the language school in Christchurch and still not found.The other from Australia Street Team : A grand-ma have been missing since it happened, and still not found.
身近な知り合いが、もの凄い不安と共に毎日を送っているのに一緒に願う事しか出来ない。もっともらしい励ましのコトバも思い浮かばない。
自分に出来る事…これくらいしか見つかりませんでした。
日本赤十字では24日から地震救援金受付が始りました。

Since there’s nothing else that I can do, I’ll pray – every single moment. Budda, Jesus, Allāh… any god, or every god… please. I believe, and I want to believe, there aren’t any god who can be careless on the LIFE!! PLEASE!!!
願う事、信じる事しか出来ないなら
それを一生懸命やろうと思う。何の神様でもいい。
命を粗末にする様な神様はいないでしょ？

This is terrible … I’ll pray with you, and I don’t care which god : any god that could save the victims is ok. I think people shouldn’t care about their differences when it comes to save a life.

there is really nothing anyone can say to ease the pain we have been affected with.
In times like these the world gathers to give a hand.
I am so touched how we all try to help each other…many nations have sent their help.
No one is prepared for these devastation.
and I am too hoping and praying that she is ok…but there is a feeling that lingers, it’s been too long. I just hope no one who was caught had to suffer…it’s too cruel…
I can no longer stand to watch the news…I keep crying at the horror of the sites.
christchurch will slowly pick up their pieces…it’ll be a dark day in history for NZ and Australia.

It was horrible. And today we saw the news that most of the rescue teams sent from different areas are now going back to their home country… I guess it means.. it is too difficult to find “alive” victims now. how sagging this could be… 😦

私が見たニュースでは、「崩壊現場の捜索活動」から「遺体の身元調査」に切り換えると言ってたよ。一日でも早く家族の元にご遺体を返すためらしい。

認識を変えるのは、復興作業のスピードを上げるため…て、理由も有るらしいよ。

空撮見ると、きれいにあのビルだけが倒壊してるんだね。
遺体の身元判明の発表があるまでは奇跡を信じます。
